Well, today Windows 8.1 dropped and the blogs are reporting hits and misses on the upgrade path from the store installed preview.
Chalk me up as a miss.
My updates are lacking KB2871389. Multiple attempts to check for updates are not pulling this required update down.

I will be poking around attempting to resolve. I doubt its Microsoft.com load related, but time will tell. If I have to go to extremes I will report how I fixed it. Once the "lab" Surface RT is upgraded I will be rolling the Pro as well.
